As we know only rainy season we have in Chennai is during the Oct -Nov. Since it has not been quite consistent we can not take the liberty of hosting the match. I hope TNCA will revisit their gameplan before scheduling any match in Chennai. Even I think the forth coming Sri Lanka India first Test may pose a problem as we may have some more spillover rain this year...
My Oct 2004 Blog as Aus Ind match ended in anti climax.

How do you Pray to God !
It was very interesting to analyze the mode of prayers by Hindu Religious followers. I am not sure how about the other religions do. Some of the people always do remand GOD to fulfill their prayers by offering Money to the temple, Donation Gold, doing some yagam etc.. By doing this . Are we trying to catch the GOD and make Him oblige to our prayers ? This is what some pretend to do. But how we should pray the God is explained in a small story..
In some temple function celebration, a father and his daughter ( 4 yrs old ) were present there. Since it was a big crowd in the temple, the father told his kid to hold his hand tightly so that kid would not be missed in the crowd. Child tried to hold her father's hand for sometime but it could not hold properly. Thinking cute child asked her father that he could not hold her father's big hand by her small hand. Child also said that you had to hold my hand and make sure that I wouldl not be missed in the crowd. If I was missed in the crowd then you have to search me and you will run into problem to trace me in the crowd.
Like the Father holds the child's hand, we have to offer ourselves to be in the hands of GOD. It is up to the GOD to sail your life successfully.

My Birthday how I was/am/willbe ...
Your Birthdate of N K Senthil: July 25.
Your birth on the 25th day of the month (7 energy) modifies your life path by giving you some special interest in technical, scientific, or other complex and often hard to understand subjects. You may become something of a perfectionist and a stickler for details. Your thinking is logical and intuitive, rational and responsible. Your feelings may run deep, but you are not very likely to let them show. This birthday makes you a more private person, more introspective and perhaps more inflexible. In friendships you are very cautious and reserved. You are probably inventive, and given to unique approaches and solutions

Know about Anger !!
Things to know about anger
source : http://eqi.org/
Anger is a powerful emotion. It can be used either in productive or counter-productive ways. It can lengthen or shorten our lives. It is like electricity. It can run large equipment or it can electrocute you.
Here are more things to know about anger:
1. It is a powerful survival tool
2. It is a response to pain (physical or psychological)
3. It is a source of energy
4. It is a secondary emotion
5. When we are angry, the brain downshifts to a lower evolutionary level
6. Prolonged anger is unhealthy
7. Repressed anger is also unhealthy
Nature has developed the emotional state we call "anger" to help us stay alive. Anger sends signals to all parts of our body to help us fight or flee. It energizes us to prepare us for action. Many years ago we were threatened by wild animals who wanted to eat us. Now we more often feel threatened by other human beings, either psychologically or physically.
When we feel energized by anger, we might ask ourselves how we put this energy to the most productive use. As with the use of other forms of energy such as electricity or oil, we might want to use it efficiently, not wastefully.
Primary vs. Secondary Feelings
Perhaps the most helpful thing to remember about anger is that it is a secondary emotion. A primary feeling is what is felt immediately before we feel angry. We always feel something else first before we get angry.
We might first feel afraid, attacked, offended, disrespected, forced, trapped, or pressured. If any of these feelings are intense enough, we think of the emotion as anger.
Geneally speaking, secondary feelings do not identify the unmet emotional need (UEN). When all I can say is "I feel angry," neither I nor any one else knows what would help me feel better. A helpful technique, then, is to always identify the primary emotion.
Here is an example. Assume someone wants us to do something we prefer not to do. At first we feel a little pressured, but not enough to get angry. When they keep pushing us, we begin to get irritated. If they continue, we get "angry". Such anger damages often relationships. One suggestion on how to avoid getting angry in this case would be to express your initial feeling by saying "I feel pressured" before the feeling has escalated to the point of destructive anger. If the person respects your feelings and does not invalidate them, they may stop their pressure. Even if they do not, I believe it is helpful to know what the specific feeling is. Knowing exactly how we feel with others and why helps us in several ways. First it raises our self-awareness in general. Second, it helps us communicate more precisely. Third, it helps us learn more quickly who respects our feelings and who we want to spend time with.
Anger as a Response to Fear
One of the primitive functions of an animal's response to fear is to frighten away the attacker. But in modern human life, we often frighten away those who we need and care about most. Besides this, prolonged anger has clear health consequences. According to Dr. Herbert Benson, these include heart attacks, hardening of the arteries, strokes, hypertension, high blood pressure, heart rate changes and metabolism, muscle and respiratory problems. (The Relaxation Response, 1975)
Responding To and Learning From Anger
Anger is an intense emotion. It is evidence that we feel strongly about something. As with every emotion, it has a lesson for us. It can teach us what we value, what we need, what we lack, what we believe and what our insecurities are. It can help us become more aware of what we feel strongly about and which emotional needs are important to us. One way to learn from anger is shown in the example below:
Instead of saying,
She never should have done that. I can't believe how irresponsible, insensitive and inconsiderate she is. What a cold- hearted, evil witch she is.
a more productive response is:
I am really upset by this. Why does it bother me so much? What specifically am I feeling? What are my primary feelings? What need do I have that is not being met? What principles of mine have been violated?
From the answers to these questions, we can decide what course of action to take in view of what our goals are. Simply being aware that we have multiple options and that we can decide to pick the best one helps soothe the anger. It may help, for instance, to ask if we really want to frighten away the person we are angry at. As soon as we "upshift" and begin to think about our options and their consequences, and make appropriate plans, we start to feel more in control and less threatened. We get out of the automatic stimulus-response mode and realize that we have choices.
There is a quote which goes like this:
Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space lies our freedom and power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and freedom. - Victor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning
It may be helpful for us to try to widen this space over our lives, and in fact this may be one of the signs of wisdom and maturity. It may give us an increased sense of control
Simply remembering that we have a choice helps us feel more in control. I have found it helpful, for example, to identify when I am feeling provoked. Once I realize this I feel more in control of my response. Not surprisingly, studies show that people feel better and are healthier when they have a sense of control over their lives. This is where the balance between upper brain and lower brain comes in. High EQ suggests that we channel our anger in productive ways to help us achieve our goals rather than to sabotage them. Keeping our goals clearly in mind at all times helps us accomplish this.
Here are some suggestions for responding to your anger:
1. Ask what you are afraid of.
2. Ask what feelings preceded the anger.
3. Ask what other feelings you are feeling.
4. Ask what you are trying to control.
5. Ask what you can control.
6. Consider your options.
7. Choose the one which will bring you the most long term happiness.
Finally, here is a technique I sometimes use to help me cope with "anger" (if I haven't already "downshifted" to a purely reactive animal instinct state). When I catch myself starting to say "I feel angry" or "I am starting to get really pissed off," I say instead, "I feel really energized." Then I ask myself how I want to channel my energy to its best use. It is a simple little technique, but sometimes it has made a big difference in how I feel and how I respond.

YOU think We are the 'BEST' Techies in IT
For those of us who think Indian's are the world's best software
engineers, heres an eye opener. The ACM (association of computing
machinery) conducted a world level programming competition in which
all universities from around the world took part
http://icpc.baylor.edu/icpc/Finals/
Now many INdian colleges took part too - but the only 2 in the top 100
list were IIT Chennai (62nd position) and IIT Bombay (72). For those
of our friends in Ontario Canada, one of their colleges kicked butt -
the Univ of Waterloo came in third (congrats guys). Iran came 10th.
China had many colleges in top 10. Russia ofcourse was the topper.
Argentina came 35th, Singapore (Nat Univ) 36th and Bangladesh came in
40. Here's the hard truth - We show up on everyone's radar, not
because of quality, but because of volume. Indian consulting companies
charge dirt low prices and thats how they get projects. Its time we
got our shit straight.
Note: Snippet is taken from my Friend's mail !

Happy Tamil New Year ( Iniya Puthandu Vazhathukkal )
The Tamil calendar is a derivative of the old Hindu solar calendar and is based on the sidereal year (i.e. the time taken for one revolution of the Earth around the sun, or the mean time taken by the sun to return to the same position relative to the background of the fixed stars in the sky). In contrast, most other languages of India (Telugu, Hindi) use lunar calendars. The Tamil Year names follow a 60-year cycle. (The number 60 represents five
Jovian periods i.e. it takes Jupiter about 12 years to orbit the sun).

Finally sunnetwork.in is working
Fwd: Does SUN network and DMK web URL change domain names to"co.in"!!!!!!!!! ( Thanks WWW.SUNNETWORK.IN WORKING ) Inbox
Senthil Kumar to queries, shammi
More options 8:09 pm (3 minutes ago)
Dear Sir,
I have been checking your www.sunnetwork.in URL once I sent the mail about the problem. The DMK org was quick to reply and they linked thedmk.org to dmk.in which is fine. Thanks once again for DMK party.. !
I was little disappointed as I did not receive any reply from SUN Network and the same time www.sunnetwork.in was also not functional. Whenever, I see www.sunnetwork.in URL at the end of your program telecasts I got much frustrated as the non-functional web site was being shown without much botheration.
Atlast, NOW it is working and you have made the difference by not just linking to any 'in' domains, it seems the contents are being maintained in the same URL which is really a professional one..
Thanks for doing it.. I am poor guy thinks that I was able to send my views to you !!!!!!!!!!
Whether you did read or not I just vent my feeling this way to many orgs and big personalities in the public life..

Are Chennaities Unhappy over CAS then Vote against CAS!
There is a discussion often floated, Why Chennai alone has been taken for granted to implement the CARS. Few people felt that this CAS is irrational as out of the whole country only Chennai implemented this. Even we are ready to pay Rs 300 or more but we do not have the option of watching all the channels as rest of the India enjoys!!! ( I am not sure whether they are enjoying or succumbed to the exorbitant Cable rates ). But in Chennai the reality is different as most of the people in Chennai are happy to PAY only less than Rs 100 and enjoy the limited service (channels) offered.
If you are unhappy about the CAS ...pls vote

Outsourcing at its best..:)..
Ferrari's F1 Team has fired its entire pit crew. The announcement
follows:
Ferrari has decided to take advantage of India's high unemployment
rate, and hire unemployed Indian youths from the Dharavi slums
in Mumbai. The decision to hire them was brought on by a recent
documentary on how they were able to remove a set of wheels
from a car parked in the street in less than 6 seconds without
proper equipment. Ferrari's erstwhile crew took more than 8
seconds with the right equipment. This was thought to be an
excellent yet bold move by the Ferrari management, and, as most
races are won & lost in the pits, Ferrari would have an advantage
over every other team.
However, Ferrari's expectations were exceeded, as during the
crew's first practice session; not only were 'da boyz' from
Bombay able to change the
tires in under 6 seconds, but within 12 seconds had resprayed the car,
filed
off the chassis number and sold the vehicle over to the McLaren Team!!

Mail to SunTV and DMK Party
Dear Sir,
Last few days, I have been seeing that during the end of Sun TV
Programs, the web site is mentioned as 'www.sunnetwork.in". But I am
unable to find the same.Even then, I think it should be
www.sunnetwork.co.in and it seems this also does not exist.
Also the DMK web site is thedmk.org which also does not comply with
what our Union Communication Minister asked/requested to all. Also DMK
can think of some thing constructively to give positivie news to all
Tamil/Sun viewers.
Please go on read the following.
I would really appreciate if you would have changed the web site URL
to comply with nation domain name like subnetwork.co.in. This was
mandated by Union Communication Minister and this way we can show IT
strength and be proud about India. I hope the spirit in which the
Minister talked, might have been taken in the right spirit in Sun TV
where he also has the hold :-)
Anyway Sun TV is the ultimate media to influence the people (even non
Tamil speaking too) but do not get carried away as many neutrals
viewers will be turned around opposite if more venom is injected
always like Jaya TV. I think you have a right to counter attack but
better show the good thing the TN central ministers [ irrespective of
part as all belong do UPA ] are doing rather than saying because TN
govt is not co-operating. This is known factor to every one and no
need to make the propaganda. Also what ever, you tried to emphiase on
Jaya cases were not directly influenced the voters because most of the
neutrals say that all are corrupted. So, leaving the corruption
propaganda, what good things UPA has given to TN so far. I know TN has
the greatest golden opportunity to grow if state govt also in the same
par with central.
Hence, the votes will do this in the coming election. Before that you
can not under estimate your alliances!! Let them also come in some
news in SUN TV. That way you can persuade them !! I have not seen
single shot (picture ) Vaiko recently..!!! Why this discrimination..
!!
I remember this is a best example how SUN TV exploits the
personalities for your sake!!! EVKS Enlongavan was being showed
almost every day in your news before the DMK and Cong alliance..I
firmly believe that without EVKS, you would not have smooth sailing to
Cong alliance (Applicable for either parties). Since EVKS was very
strong opposer for JJ that made obvious choice for Cong as DMK. You
have to show some glimpses of EVKS now also.. As I am a regular viewer
of Sun TV, once the alliance was done..You just ignored EVKS. I know
without his influence the Rail route from Erode to Palani could not
be taken for study. Underlying reasons may be Subbulakshmi Jagdeesan
too.. But you rarely show them in the new.. At least, Sun news can
have some slot time for the UPA ministers good work and this would
bring a good will among the UPA till TN assembly elections... This is
much needed for TN growth...
Also, you have more responsibility than any other TV in India as many
viewers outside of India also watching it. I would appreciate your
fund Tsunami contribution and coverage in
visual.. [ Audio never carried any positive news ..Sorry .. Please do
not keep your propaganda to give -ve of JJ as every body knows her :)]

Tax on Money Withdraw 10K.. to be at higher amount like 50K
I would say this would be make some sense if the amount starts from 50K or at least 25 K.. Any salaried people have to withdraw more than 10K for house rent, EB, etc.
In rural, people who withdraws his money will be hesitant to pay that. Please consider the hike the slab like 5OK in a day or atleast 25K..
10K limit is too less as we would do a shopping it all will be over. Also, it would be more of crushing the lower income section.. Even I withdraw 10K money, that again would be under VAT or any sale tax. How unanimosly it can be taken that 10K will be used in black!!!! If the amount is very high like in lacs then you can enforce this.
It is a good move but all the segement will be affected. This is my great concern. Hope atleast some strong feedbacks will be flowing to FM to review this..

Mail sent to CM cell and National Highways Secretary
Respected Sir / Madam,
It seem our Tamil Nadu maintains the top in the Road Accident list consistently.
http://www.tn.gov.in/sta/tables-a1.htm#Number%20of%20Accidents%20and%20Persons%20involved
http://www.driveandstayalive.com/info%20section/statistics/stats-india_2000-2002.htm
It is shocking information. I am wondering even we do not have longest
Nation highways compare to many big states like AP, MH but still we
beat other states in terms of accident. I think we need to work on
this to reduce it not by patrolling alone ( really good move by CM)
but also by enforcing the speed limits which strictly should be
followed at least with the city limits. We need to do the analysis of
these accidents occurring place and identity permanent solutions rather
just making RED warning boards!
Also, road encroachments play a major part with in city accidents.
E.g 100 feet Road ( Inner Ring road ) just before Vadapalani ( after
MMDA single..the road narrows to less than 60 feet) .When the road
was laid how these encroachments have not been moved.. Since it might
be under disputed one, the encroached apart do not have permanent
building. This show that the owner knew he/she will have to vacate.. I
am wondering there should be something needs to be done to limit the
speed and the classification vehicles to be plying on the city roads.
I can point out many more example probably it would be better I say
what the roads are in better border marks.. I think it is
I know we have the classification but The classification should be
strictly followed..
In general, City roads (all the roads ) should have continuous platform
for pedestrians ( There should not be any up and downs due to
house/office entry, we should manage this one some how so that people
would prefer to walk in the platform) Also, since the platforms are
allowed to walk both ways, it should be wide enough to accommodate
alt east four people to walk together.. ( width must be more than 5
feet).
I think we need to do this alt east in 100 feet road as major traffic
is being experienced in this.
Also, we should not allow any private parties to enjoy not even an
single square feet. Because CMDA and other concerns mandate the house
to be built 3 feet from their plot boundary how can we tolerate this.
That too, if any body enjoys a single square feet that costs around
more than 1000 -2000 Rs property of the public.
I am sure we can do it by doing step by step remedies.
1. Remove the encroachments in all roads ( at least major roads )
2. Build the platform properly
3. Make the extra space for MTC bus stops and mandate them to follow
4. Enforce the speed limits
5. Fine on spot even if they vehicles is owned by Govt or semi Govt
6. Check the License quite often and also strict procedure in giving license.
When we have the capabilities to trap "Veerappan", I am sure the
traffic implementation would be so much demanding of any intelligence
just mere 'will'. Of course, this would not affect any body or
opposition party. As this would benefit every one and every body loves
it.

What I am doing some time !!!!
Most of the time, I tend to talk about the upliftment of the country by just following simple things which can be done easily by all. We do not require to get any Technologies,Knowledge or Fund for this.
What and HOW ????!!
We need to write to the top officials whenever you feel or experience some thing worth to mention. Every one might see the so many thing in roads or public place which we simply disgest and go. Instead we can start to vent the feeling by sending to the correct/concern authoriest/people reps.I have started this some years back as I do this as my time pass or venting the feelings !! I have sent mails to authorities/CMcell/ about the traffic, enforcements or any basic right violation.. I am going to publish some of the mails here in the blog...My friends ridiculed that I am speaking to the deaf or building the castle in Air.. I feel if the bloggers think it can be possible one :-)

Why do Blog
I found the blogging gives more freedom to express view. Especiall, when you are expressing your views in a thoughtful manner in alias or group, some members would not be so comfortable to appreciate rather find fault on that for something.. This happens if your live hood is connected with mail client or you are active reader of some new groups.
Here the blog gives me more freedom to be expressive on my thought and normally set of blogger who appreciates is valued as encouragement. Also, you are not going to sell your ideas and thought with expense of somebody's privacy. Just open for all, whoever finds your postings are valuable or worth to see, then those of course will propagated too other blogger or friends.
This way, the blogging is always encouraged and it would be more cumulative encouragement in your writing..
Cheers Bloggers...

6 questions to ask before buying Jet's IPO
Everyone is talking about it.
In the midst of higher oil prices and intense competition eating into net profits, Jet Airways is the first airline company to hit the market with an initial public offering on February 18.
Here are six questions to ask before you bite the bullet:
In nutshell
As an investor look carefully at these six issues before jumping on the Jet IPO bandwagon.
If you want to get into the IPO and exit quickly, go for it.
Investors can hope to make 15% to 20% on listing. Or, if you do believe in Jet's strong fundamentals, solid business plan, ability to take on competition, consider it for the long term.

Points to PONDER !!
1.Why do 'some' people carry last year (2004) or even older diaries to the meeting even nice 2005 Diairy was given to all
1. Why do 'some' people find it impossible to keep cell phones switched off during any of the official meetings(despite explicit requests or otherwise)?
2. Why do 'some' people pull/push the door even 'explicitly' requested to push/pull.
3. Why do 'some' people come always late to any scheduled meeting?
4. Why do 'some' people ponder on these things :-)
